The Chapter 2

Ten years ago, the knife we wanted to carry every day didn’t exist, so we made it. The Chapter was the very first product that we designed and made, and is a staple of the brand.  A lot has changed in the first decade of The James Brand, but our values remain unchanged. We are as committed as ever to our modern, minimal design ethos, and to bringing you the very best products we can make. Thanks for being a part of our story, and here’s to your next Chapter, and ours.

Truth be told, we didn’t necessarily know what we were doing when we created the first Chapter.  We had a vision of the knife we wanted to carry every day, so that’s what we made. It’s amazing that people entrusted us with their money based on a strange company name, a novel design and some cool images on a website. Since then, we have learned a lot, and we’ve heard your feedback on how to make the Chapter even better. The new Chapter 2 now features a tip-up carry orientation, an all-new fully machined titanium pocket clip, and some subtle curvature in the scales. It’s like the original Chapter in many ways, but better. Just like us. 

The reasons that we made the Chapter back in 2014 are the same reasons that we still make it today: we wanted a simple, iconic pocket knife that didn’t feel threatening or overly done. We wanted something that was beautiful in its own right; an object that we would love to feel in hand, but that would absolutely do the work when required. We’re proud of the Chapter, and what it means to us, and to you.  We thank you for the trust you’ve given us over the past decade, and we’re looking forward to the next ten years together, and beyond.
