Our daily workhorse, reimagined.

We've redesigned the Ellis from the ground up, based on feedback from you, our customers. First off, we've added our very first scissors, which makes the Ellis supremely versatile. If you can't cut it with the Ellis's knife blade, you can almost assuredly cut it with scissors. We have also updated the construction of the Ellis into a slip-joint design to make it easier to use. The new Ellis also features a new deep-carry wire clip as well as our All-Things scraper, flat-head screwdriver and pry tool. The Ellis is built around a partially-serrated Swedish Sandvik 12C27 stainless-steel blade and is available in three different scale options. It will immediately become your daily multi-tool of choice.

Born from the same lineage as the Elko, The Ellis was designed to be the in-pocket, multi-function knife that you’ll be reaching for multiple times a day. We asked ourselves “What things do you really need from a knife like this?”. We made sure that the Ellis had all of those functions, and then we ditched the rest. With a partially serrated blade, scissors, pry bar, and bent wire clip you won’t know how you ever got along without it.

A Beautiful, Functional EDC—With the Best Scissors I've Ever Used

I've been carrying the James Brand Ellis in the reddish-pink color, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite everyday tools. The color is bold and modern—something you don’t usually see in a knife, and I love that. It adds just the right amount of personality to my EDC without being over-the-top.

What really surprised me, though, are the scissors. They’re fantastic—far better than the ones on my Victorinox knives. They’re sharp, precise, and sturdy, and I use them way more often than I expected. The build quality is excellent.

The slip-joint blade opens smoothly, and the knife feels solid in hand. It handles daily tasks like opening packages, cutting cord,

My only small gripe is the weight. It is a heavy. I wish it were just a bit lighter in the pocket. That said, the quality and functionality more than make up for it.

If you're looking for a beautifully designed, capable, and compact everyday carry knife with exceptional scissors, the Ellis is a great choice. I carry mine daily and enjoy using it.
