We’ve doubled down on the Communication category with a handful of new products, including the Gatecliff notebook sleeve, the Burwell click pen and a new version of our Stilwell two-part compact pen, and a new 3-pack of TJB notebooks.
It’s good to always have a pen handy; it’s a fundamental piece of EDC gear. But sometimes a full-size pen can be too much for everyday carry. That’s why we created the Stilwell; the TJB take on the compact pen. It’s small in size, but punches well above its weight class. With its minimal form, it will easily ride in your pocket all day, but when it’s time to do work the Stilwell is all business.
We’ve redesigned the Stilwell from the ground up, building on the history of the original and incorporating feedback from you, our customers. We’ve simplified the construction and made the Stilwell lighter, with a new barrel and cap design. We implemented an entirely new 3-part gasket system for easy, consistent and secure deployment. We’ve also made improvements to the lanyard to make it easier to tuck into the cap, and we’ve added machined-in dots (which match our new Burwell pen and our Cache River pocket tool) for better overall grip. It’s like the original Stilwell, but better.

I gifted this to my boyfriend, who needs out in pens. He loved it! He loved the design , in that the cap functions as the length when needed. We found that it writes very smoothly and is a pleasure to use. I saw some other reviewers say that their pens lacked this quality, so I was wary, but I’m happy to say it exceeded all expectations.
I run around all day. I wanted a pen that could match. The still well is perfect. I stick it in my pill pocket along with my Palmer and it's there when I need it. Pair it with the pocket book that fits comfortably in the back pocket and it's a match made in heaven.
I got my son The Stilwell v2 for Christmas 2023. He carries it EDC and uses it quite often for work on his out of office travels. Unfortunately, the new locking gasket design just doesn't retain the cap as securely as the original 3 O-ring design that I carry EDC. He said he lost the cap this week and is bummed. So am I. I may give him my OG Stilwell!!
The old design has a better circle grips and anodized finished.
While I love the style and weight, I have encountered two issues with this pen:
1. Notice the smudging that occurs (see pic)
2. The tip wobbles when I write, lacking stability and reflecting my overall penmanship. A quality pen remains firm.
