The TJB Artist Series: James° × Mark Oblow

We’re proud to introduce our latest Artist Series in collaboration with Mark Oblow — a multi-disciplinary creative whose roots in skateboarding, photography, and fine art have made him a singular voice across industries for decades. From his early days as a sponsored skateboarder to his later work as a brand builder, photographer and artist, Oblow has spent his life redefining the edges of culture. Now, his vision comes to life in a curated collection of James Brand essentials—where creative edge meets everyday carry.

Meet Mark Oblow

Born and raised on Oahu, and cut from the cloth of the late 80’s/90’s skate and surf culture, Mark Oblow’s story sounds like a mixtape of punk lyrics, street noise, and Hawaiian roots. A lifelong skateboarder turned photographer (capturing some of skateboarding's most historical moments), artist, and creative director, Oblow’s art blends stencil, collage, and bold colors with an unmistakable optimism. He has collaborated with everyone from RVCA to Quiksilver (along with many others), always bringing a gritty, analog feel to the table. If you've ever seen a combination of hand-painted skulls and palm trees layered with raw typography and vibrant colors—you’ve felt his influence.

MOBLOW LIMITED EDITION ARTIST SERIES

Moblow's Daily Kit

When it came to collaborating, we gave Oblow the keys to the car and let him hit the gas. The result? A full lineup of Mark’s favorite TJB essentials, featuring original art and hand-picked colorways. This limited series includes five collaborative pieces: the Palmer (our take on the classic utility knife), the Folsom EDC pocket knife, the Gatecliff notebook sleeve with original Moblow patches, the Moblow catch tray, and a custom-designed T-shirt. Each piece reflects Oblow’s signature blend of texture, edge and West Coast attitude — utilitarian tools that also carry a story. Built for those who blur the lines between art and life.
