Form and Function.

The Carter features slide-lock technology, a first for us here at TJB. The slide-lock is secure, easy to understand and ambidextrous. It’s designed for use with one hand, and has been a staple mechanism of everyday carry knives for a long time.

Designed & Made Better

The VG-10 stainless steel blade has great edge-retention and corrosion resistance. VG-10 was designed to handle the abuse of the culinary world, but because of its amazing characteristics, it’s found a home in the world of everyday carry. The Carter is available with G10 scales or in natural Micarta; both are fully sculpted and feel amazing in hand. The opening style uses a symmetrical thumb-disc on top of the blade, making for easy, affirmative one-handed opening. The deep-carry pocket clip is our deepest ever. It’s easily reversible (using a Torx T6, not included).

The Carter is available in regular and XL sizes, so it will fit hands and jobs of all sizes. If you are looking for something that is discreet and rides easily in any pocket all day, stick with the standard Carter. If you've got bigger hands, and need a full-size knife for hardcore work day in and day out, the Carter XL is for you.

What I liked... It's pretty. What I didn't like... The fact that I have seen much better quality blade steel and handle material in sub $50 budget knives. This is by far the most expensive budget knife I have ever bought. There is nothing "premium" about this knife other than it's slick look.

I am quite satisfied...for the most part.

Looks good, fits my hand perfectly, good weight and balance, is very sharp. My only con is that it goes so deep in the pocket that I am still figuring out how to easily grasp and pull it out without putting pressure on the clip and fighting against myself.

Great as always

So this is my 4th & 5th time purchasing The Carter (3rd & 4th for XL), but these were gifts for friends that also thrive in the EDC life. They went over great. Might’ve even converted my boy who’s carried a Buck110 his whole life into a more tactical/practical choice
