I have a few watches that I consider to be great values for what I paid. The Timex x James Brand GMT is currently my favorite of all. I rely on the GMT hand because I work 9 time zones from my coworkers use the bezel to track a third time zone where my daughter lives.
I’ve been meaning to pick up something in titanium for a while, but nothing really spoke to me. I think this is a great case size and I love the design, including the non-tapering bracelet, which some people don’t like. The only thing that I would warn anyone looking at this watch about is the lack of micro adjustment on the bracelet. I got lucky and it fits me perfectly.
I’m glad that the Miyota GMT movement is making appearances in a lot of lower-priced watches, though I also own the Seiko 5 GMT and don’t mind the caller GMT function when I’m traveling. I think the Miyota movement is a bit zingy sounding when the rotor spins. Not a big deal, but noticeable.
When I ordered my watch, it came with a misaligned bezel, but after a couple emails between Timex and James Brand, they sent a replacement. I know that a lot of people have been saying, “$750 for a Timex!”, which I can understand, especially given my previous experiences with Timex over the years, but I’d challenge anyone to show me something with drastically better specs for the money.
It’s a great watch and the great customer service from James Brand in shipping me a new one was icing on the cake.
