We hosted a proper release for the James Brand × Mark Oblow collaboration at our Oceanside space, and the night turned into something bigger than just showing off a new collection. Oblow completely took over the shop and filled it with his world—original artwork stacked against the walls, block prints hanging in clusters, darkroom photos, zines, and little personal pieces tucked into corners that felt like you were walking through his living room. Arto Saari’s campaign photos stretched across the walls, giving the whole place a gallery feel, while the products themselves carried Oblow’s fingerprint—gritty, textured, and full of West Coast attitude. The right crew rolled through too: Arto, Burnett, Ryan Allan, Russell Houghten, Beatrice Domond—each one adding their own kind of energy to the mix. Seaborn kept the vibe alive, Shootz held it down with musubi for the crowd, and before long the whole night had that easy, natural rhythm you only get when good people, good art, and good energy all line up.

Good People, Good Times.

Oblow closed out the night by tagging the front window in true Moblow fashion—a raw, layered mix of punk, street, and island energy.

After the crowd meandered out, a select few headed to the after-party at the Pour House for a few live punk rock sets via The Black Maps and Society of the Silver Cross. Honestly, things were a blur by this point, but live music is always a good way to put the finishing touches on an empty night.

We nearly knocked on the door of our Australian friend and neighbor Nutty to really take it up a notch, as you can always count on the Aussies to be up for whatever, but better judgement got the best of us and we finally called it a day. It was the kind of night that didn’t feel curated or forced, just real. The right crew, the right vibe, and a collaboration that finally found its moment.
